His Tears At Mass
I watched him as he stood there.
Teardrops trickling from his eyes.
I often wondered what he was thinking.
That drew emotion from inside.
I knew him as a gentle man.
With strength gained from a righteous life.
Found in love for God and family.
As his wife stood by his side.
His rugged face showed the years.
From challenges thrown at men.
And struggles triumphantly beaten.
Not to bother him again.
Is this why his tears did fall?
No, the reason to me lost.
I do know that I saw his eyes.
Graciously fixed upon on the CROSS.
