The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

His Love Was 100 Proof

He always had the finer things
And wanted you to know
The wife the kids a family
All part of the show

It was a dark cold night
When it fell apart
Its when that old whiskey bottle
Stole his heart

Sometimes you know a new love
Can take away the pain
But with all the damage done
Nothing remains

Hed always told her he loved her
He swore he told the truth
But on that dark cold night
He fell in love with 100 proof

As the kids headed off to college
He headed into town
They sought a higher education
He looked for the new love he'd found

It was that night she knew she lost him
He found a love he couldn't deny
He was willing to lose everything
For the new love in his life

Sometimes you know a new love
Can take away the pain
But with all the damage done
Nothing remains

He’d always told her he loved her
And he swore it was true
But on that dark cold night
He fell in love with 100 proof

He drank to make it through the day
He drank her late at night
He knew it consumed him
He was willing to pay the price

But the day that they found him
They knew his love was true
He gave everything he ever had
He gave it all to 100 proof

As they sprinkled his ashes
They watched them float back to the shore
The way they slammed into the bank
Was hard to ignore

The way he lived his life
Would end like they knew
He gave everything he had
He gave it all to 100 proof
