His Little Place

I look out my window and see a bird in a tree

I wish I could join him he looks so free

He sits so still

He goes anywhere of his own free will

I wonder what he thinks when he's up there so far

Does he look down on us and wonder what we are?

He's still there

So peaceful in the air

His own little place

Soon, he'll be gone with no trace

Still, I hope he comes back someday

So I can watch him just fly away
