His Heartbeat

Thou sheep,
paint the terrestrial ball red
polish the feeble cord with the blood He shed
preach the cause for which He bled
pant for the cross where to death He was led.

Thou lost sheep,
cost the pains that brought you gain
count the harvest’s golden grain
curse the tempter’s burning brain
come into bonds with the lamb that was slain.

Thou enslaved goat,
leave the circle of vain and shame
loan to the savior your leg that’s lame
lend Him your heart, who remains the same
live with the rainbows in the hall of fame.
