His Healing Tears
One by one, down they fall
Softly, on his dampened cheeks
Emotions erupt the surface
And with sorrow, they release
Trodden along a familiar path
Down stream, his tears they flow
Unknowingly, now on a solo venture
His journey leads to a place unknown
Forced to make a difficult choice
His integrity, he had to uphold
To preserve his soul, he had to flee
And escape from further turmoil
Though layers of pain envelop him
In all, he's determined to stand strong
To heal and recover from damage done
By a partnership he no longer belongs
He'll learn to rearrange his priorities
And this time, he'll put himself first
No longer will he tolerate those
Demands that manipulate and coerce
For with each new day, opportunity awaits
Personal goals, he'll work towards
He'll see leaving was his saving grace
And empowerment will be his reward
So as his tears keep falling
I pray his heart can bear the ache
As his brokenness starts to mend
Healing tears need to be embraced
It takes great courage and strength to carry on
When one's whole world turns upside down
So let the tears fall as they may
And reassuring peace will soon be found
