His Greatest Strength

His Greatest Strength
He sees things in a way we do not appreciate or fathom
He does not pencil things the way we do
With a head, nose, mouth and eyes, working our way down
He starts with the waist and creates a form none of us recognize
We try, but we do not get it until the last flourish is added.
Then it is always amazing!

He adds colors that are unexpected
Yet they make his art vivid and unusual
He is a magnificent writer and an artist

Being color blind has been an asset, a strength
Many do not know he cannot discern red from green.
They ooh and ahh over his paintings, thinking he is innovative
Of course he is
but I am convinced that being color-blind
has been his biggest strength.

Me, too. At first, I thought you were describing Picasso there. :) gw
