His Glory
Praying to gods with ears of stone
leaning on saints, yet standing alone
who are these gods, and what do they mean
by higher salvation and washing souls clean?
Memorizing prayers and rituals on end
worried beads and stiff knees do bend.
How simpler to go to the source of the land
and worship in glory HIS nature so grand
for nowhere is HIS bounty more seen
than in the wilderness so vast and pristine
HIS wonder never ceases to amaze
and in song I lift my voice to praise
HIS ever present power and glory on high
which makes my spirit take wing and fly
for never do I feel more close to my LORD
than in these mountains where my soul has soared
to heights of passion stirred by wonder and awe
inspired in whole by natures diving law
