His Glory

Praying to gods with ears of stone
leaning on saints, yet standing alone
who are these gods, and what do they mean
by higher salvation and washing souls clean?
Memorizing prayers and rituals on end
worried beads and stiff knees do bend.
How simpler to go to the source of the land
and worship in glory HIS nature so grand
for nowhere is HIS bounty more seen
than in the wilderness so vast and pristine
HIS wonder never ceases to amaze
and in song I lift my voice to praise
HIS ever present power and glory on high
which makes my spirit take wing and fly
for never do I feel more close to my LORD
than in these mountains where my soul has soared
to heights of passion stirred by wonder and awe
inspired in whole by natures diving law

This is wonderful. I like how the title and theme of His Glory flows consistently throughout the poem. This is very inspirational and uplifting. The rhyming pattern gives the poem a special spark. Keep praising His Holy Name. God bless always and great job! ~Joseph

Each to his own, but I am with you sister. Never do I feel more close to God than surrounded by nature. Honest and well written (of course). Love, Shar

Trudy - You know when I found the Lord I was in the SHU in Prison (Single cell lock-up) no Preacher, no Bible just me and the Lord - I go up in the mountains also when I am deeply troubled - I do attend church don't get me wrong but the best talks the Lord and I have are when I'm alone in the Mountains, just like you - God Bless

I also wonder how ones can pray to a statue or an image, you don't have to see Jehovah God to believe the he is the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him, just look around at his wonderful creations, look at the human body is it not wonderfully made and how everything works together in harmony this did not come about because of evolution, take care D-nyce
