Him and Me

After many years
I look up at you smiling
Satiated, I quietly subside.
Peace re-acquainted
Faith restored
A tyrant died, in this war inside.
A tyranny that challenged
Your very existence
Justifying all that is sin
I gladly surrender my reigns again
Celebrating your victory
In this war within.
I can kneel down again
I can bow and pray
And hope to find solace.
Done being a non believer
Done wandering
Lost in that faithless place.
