Him
Nervously waiting, while anticipating the good
That I know will soon be here.
Patiently pacing for I long to be understood
And for him to erase the fear.
I know it's my job to care for myself.
That, I will never forget.
Still, I can see my baggage upon the shelf
And my goals that are yet to be met.
The active happiness inside of my soul
Is strong yet so completely alone.
I need a partner; for him to play the role
Which supports my strength and the skills that I hone.
Aimlessly, I've paved the paths of my life.
Impatiently placed; without regard to time.
Dearly I've paid and have endured the strife
So I seek refuge in these words that I rhyme.
But wouldn't it be great to have a companion in this?
A friend, a lover, a better half!
Longingly, I yearn for his sweet kiss.
Then, we will venture on the right path.
