Him

Black is the color of the evening.
We sit in rows in front of a case that held once life.
People weep in sorrow looking down at what passed.
Why did this happen?
Why did HE take him so young?
They all said this and more, a woman cries,
As if it will bring him back to the once life he had.
Don’t they know he is happy now?
All his pain and worry gone
He is free and only happiness is waiting for him.
Walking to the casket, I look in
I see what was once the body I walked in
Laying lifeless with a suit of black and white
As I step back into the light, I say good-bye to love ones and pain
And say hello to happiness and new beginnings
