Hiding In the Pine Trees

I'm waiting for salvation For the morning sun to rise I'm waiting for freedom To look me in the eyes But I'm hiding in the pine trees And I'm hiding from the light I'm hiding in the shadows And hiding in plain sight Do I see a tunnel Or do I see a wall Should I crawl forward Or from it will I fall I used to be a child When life was a game And I am yet a child But life is not the same I'm looking for a warmth That salvation must provide But until I find that freedom In the pine trees I will hide

Bridget, I've been "hiding in the pine trees" most of my life. People keep saying we have to step outside if we want to find that warmth, but it's hard to find the courage sometimes. Lovely poem. Best wishes, Carolyn
