Hiding Behind the Collar
Father please forgive him
For once again he’s sinned
The words come all too easy
It’s as if they’ve been penned
Sing praises of Hail Mary
One so full of grace
It only takes a penance
To free him from this place
Locked inside a darkness
His soul begs to be well
While he is granted forgiveness
Another’s soul resides in hell
Having wiped his hands clean
And his secret safely locked away
He remains free to sin again
Another victim, another day
Suffer the little children
Unto him they shall come
But it is the demon in disguise
They need protection from
Hiding behind the collar
Shielded by our laws
Another child is molested
Still religious order has no flaws…
