Hiding

I took my book into the biggest
lilac bush
and hid
in the fragrant place
nice and cool
dog would follow
panting in high summer
but happy to hide along
adventure is adventure he would say
and take a nap
reading
I'd hear my sisters calling
mother whistling as she went about her work
we were
so free then
no one worried when you just
disappeared into childhood
for a day.

Sounds lovely. I'd like to do that now, as a matter of fact! Donna (p.s. thanks for your comments).
