Hidden Walls
Lost in a perpetual maze
Caught up in an eternal haze
And with no solace left to find
I'm trapped here deep within my mind
Brick by brick the wall erected
Still my life was unaffected
Till the day it all seemed clearer
A closer look in the mirror
A prison of my own making
My sanity for the taking
Each hour spent from dusk to dawn
Reality was dead and gone
No longer close to kin or friend
The fences that I could not mend
This solitude I freely chose
To wallow in my fear and woes
Counting down to the day I die
At first I laugh and then I cry
My last sane day I can't recall
Those hidden walls enslave us all
