I wrote this as I was watching a squirrel in my back yard, He had a mouthful of acorns.

Reads like a good contender..Way to go. The leaves here are turning brown and falling off because we have had a dry fall but I think that with this storm that is going to change. Thanks for the honor of placing in your contest. I appreciate it. Sara

Ohhhhhhh, is that what the contest means for us to do? I need to compare your accomplishment to the directions and see if understanding dawns! I enjoyed your frisky Haiku and the insight was merely a bonus. Good write! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Hello Charles Messina, I have always wondered about the squirrels, they gather their nuts, why? they do not sleep all through the winter. To me this is a mystery. Have a nice evening my friend.

Food sources are scarce in the deep of winter, why they don not sleep through the winter is a mystery. Thank you my dear friend Darlene.

Yes, to squirrels- acorns are hidden treasures, even when in plain sight. :) There are so many beautiful moments in nature. Surrounding many of God's little creatures. You have captured it all Charlie. ~ Brandy
