Hidden Stars
Hidden above the blanket of cotton clouds
lies a dark tapestry of diamonds in flight.
Heaven shields these endless glowing specks
from mankind's sliver of limited sight.
These ancient lights blink behind this temporary curtain,
blessing the visions spun by a dreamer's songs.
Wisps of light rays escape into this sleeping world,
their celestial breaths comforting the heart's many wrongs.
These hidden stars soften heaven's ethereal rug,
straining to see the innocence of a sleeping face.
Their cosmic fingers brush through the moving clouds,
silently stroking the imagination of the human race.
As the ebony night slowly ebbs into dawn's magical arms,
dimming stars bow to the sun's crown of might.
Once again these glowing stars are hidden,
waiting for the awakening power of night.
