Hidden

The nothing in the void of my true self
Gazes into you and reflects your darkened health
In between the lines I rape your every thought
Every word I lay is just another spell you caught

To become what’s me is to never let you win
As though my soul’s at stake and competition’s everything
To let it go is to become the walking dead
As I bleed you dry and pretend it’s love instead

But I’m at constant question with everything I feel
I have to lay back down when it all becomes too real
My vigilance will never have an end
It will only take my life if I try harder to defend

The surface is another confused face
But inside I know just how to make you taste
No, I try to turn my head away
But with one more win, I’d kill every single day

A massacre dreams a way to hide
And with my smiling face, I bury it inside
Over time, death becomes my world
The surface falls and my massacre is heard
