Hey

The sun casts a glowing hue upon your face
I swear I have tried to take this at a slow pace
But I cannot make it any more clear
All of my attempts and sly hinting have led me to here
Soon it will all be out in the open
Conveying more than any words I have repeatedly spoken
You have utterly captivated me
A blinding light shrouded in naivety
Offering me acts of kindness and honesty
I had otherwise never directed towards me
Gentle and warm like a welcoming spring day
Causing me to fall in unforeseen ways
Your eyes, smile, voice, and laugh
Take me to a place I can't help but want to go back
You fill my thoughts, a pitcher to its brim
Introducing an ocean of feelings, I desperately want to take a swim
I am unsure of what you might say
Will you leave me standing all alone on this soon-to-be rainy day
Or fill my heart with wonder that you indeed want to stay
So with one final deep breath and a gathering of courage
I take a leap I would have otherwise discouraged
I turn to face you with a slight sway
Lean in and finally say... "Hey"
