He's Come and Gone

Oh, he's come and gone Now the pleasure of her soul Has left her body wanting The promise of a change And an eternity with him In a new city, a better country But he left her spirit broken Now that he's come and gone Her hard heart is now tender Oh where did she go wrong Did she sin or love too little? As fears and doubts wake her With sleepless nights, lonely days She finds he's come and gone Feeling used and betrayed Upon her bed with bitter tears She questions the love they made Was it in vain? Can it be regained? For others he took with him Now she runs and tries to hide Because he's come and gone What reason has she left to breathe Through death she can see him again But she knows he must return To regain what remains his Can she hold out that long? Since he's come and gone She will be tried until he reigns And that time will be war But she shall side with him Earth lovers take the mark In that sacred war to be one With the only perfect man But for now he's come and gone And if she remains his fool She will be found in him Welcomed in his city coming down She will be healed by his fruit She will drink from his river for eternity Unusual Hope for Those Left Behind
