Hermine

Hermine
Her heart filled with love, courageous and strong, America bound, her homeland long gone
Every beat of her heart was for someone she loved, selflessly giving from daybreak until dawn
Remembering the past keeps her life in full view, glimpses of Germany to the grandchild smile
Married a lifetime, committed she stands, her family branches out across this great land
I look up to my mother for her strength and courage, her gentleness and unselfishness, her loyalty and commitment.
Not once did she ever stop loving family, her love was always unconditionally.
Every time I look in the mirror I see her image and a smile comes across my face.
