Here's To the Bad Times

Have a drink to the bad times!
It seems we've had quite a few.
Let's even drink to the sad times
When my heart was worried 'bout you
I'd rather drink to the good times ---
We've had a few of those too.
But, still I can drink to the bad times --
'Cause even bad times are good times with you.

Ever since I met you
We've been either up or down.
No in-between times ---
Just good times or mean times ---
But, smiles have outnumbered the frowns.

Let's always include the bad times
When we raise our glasses high.
For, every one of our bad times
Stopped short of saying goodbye.
And when time has tested our mem'ry ---
As both of us know it will do,
Let's also cherish the bad times ---
'Cause even bad times are good times with you.

... cause even bad times are good times with you. You have a winning hook my friend! That is a line I imagine to be in a good ole 70s jam. Whether or not times are hard or times are good you still have an excuse to drink (I jest... LOL!). Really superb poem, Jake!
