Her Soul Has a Story
For: 'someone who cares'

There is this girl I've just started to know,
and I'm wanting so much to be able to show
her how gifted she is, cause she just wont believe
in herself; it seems like she's constantly decieved
by the thoughts in her mind. When she looks in the mirror
she sees her reflection through layers of fear.
And she writes with such passion, I don't understand
how she opens her heart with a pen in her hand,
yet her heart speaks with fury of hurt and despair.
Does she yearn for attention; for someone to care?
Does she see how her words leave imprints in my soul?
For myself to feel what she feels; is that her goal?
I need her to know that she isn't alone,
she has someone to talk to; just pick up the phone.
When it seems like your world is just falling apart,
when you're lonely, depressed, when it feels like your heart
has been broken in two, don't give in to your thoughts,
cause they're lies; don't forget that the razor may cost
you your life. Don't you see just how precious you are?
That your wounds will all heal, you can cover the scars.
You are boundlessly talented. Please try to see
the same 'you' that I see, everything you could be.
If you'd just look inside you would find all the reasons
to close the door on all the lies you've believed in
about who you are; God makes no imperfections.
Your mind's leading you in all the wrong directions.
I'll give you a reason right now , if you'll listen,
not trying to preach, and i won't be persistant.
The life you've been given is worth more than gold.
Your soul has a story that needs to be told.
