The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Her Song On Earth

I looked across the valley scene
All dulled by winter’s blight
My heart was chilled by where I’d been
And weakened by the night
Her distant smile, a long lost dream
Before the years went by
My eyes were closed by sunny beam
And sought never to pry.

The winter’s end will come too soon
Awhile I wonder how
I failed to see the silver moon
But hear her wisdom now
Then springtime came to fill the trees
With pastel shades, all new
And dawn’s first glimpse upon a breeze
My heart has thawed, it’s true.

And if perchance I should begin
To hear her song on Earth
The valley echoing the wind
To fill the world with mirth.
I think I would be trembling there
and hope that love will shake
the fear that leaves me standing there
quivering in her wake.
