Her Prison

Held hostage by silence, so she keeps it inside. The words she did speak are now locked in her mind. Make believe romance; Thoughtful gifts he gave gloating. Coming home with stuffed animals, cards and doting. He sits at his table, she longs to be fed. Once he sat beside her, now the computer's his bed. Tapping away, the sound rips through the room. Where is the hammer so their life will resume? The words of her mother rings through her ears. "You've made your bed, now dry up those tears." "He doesn't beat you, now let this thing work!" Then reality hit her and the shame came to lurk. She's in a mess but her youth is still there. There has to be someone to love her somewhere. So, she'll bide her time and with patience will wait. For her true love will find her, her righteous soul mate.
