Her Name Was Beautiful
Her name was Beautiful and she was.
Her sisters were Diamond and Princess.
They lived in a shelter with their mother
Until she got into another fight
And she always did.
This was their tenth shelter.
They curled up together hoping this was the one.
We were Beautiful’s fifth school. She was in second grade.
I felt honored to know her. She told me about her sisters.
They were not in school yet.
I was excited about meeting the twins Diamond and Princess.
They would be in Kindergarten next year.
But Mom got into another altercation over the summer
The last I heard Mommy had been banned from every shelter in town
A relative took them to a shelter four hours away
