Her Last Day

She held the razor blade in her hand..
Trembling, she reflects on her life.
Lost and alone in her dark thoughts..
Of her failures as a mother and wife.

Trying to find anything to give her hope..
But there's nothing left to grasp.
She's discarded, iscolated and empty..
There's no one to help or even to ask.

She's so overwhelmed with grief..
Accepting what she's about to do.
Knowing her actions will hurt everyone..
But she just can't see another day through.

She's tired and has no purpose..
Too old to start over again.
Being alive is too heavy a burden..
She no longer wants to live in pain.

Maybe she loved too much?
And gave too many chances away.
But her heart can't take anymore..
So today will be her last day!
