All roses remind me of my grandmother - hers was my first funeral in 1964.

oh gosh, reading this reminds me. I have to go to a viewing of the body of a woman I used to visit years ago. She got alzhiemers around 3 or 4 years ago and now she has died. It's so weird to think how fast can be one's demise when hit by such a terrible thing

Every time I smell roses I think of my maternal grandmother for that is what the entire room smelled like, and it was my first funeral.

The roses make an impact especially mixed with death. When I went to the museum at Ground Zero, I smelled roses and death as I entered the door. Overwhelmed!

It is weird how fast it all returns unexpectedly fast.
