Her Fingers

your slender fingers
thrust forward
to unite with mine
as sparks began to fly; scattered to the wind
as we stand there
both of us
so vulnerable
so afraid
yet, there is no hesitation
as I open my heart
and you do the same
For the first time..
In such a long time..
I'm able to gaze into another's eyes
without being ashamed of my own
