Her Dark Facade

She wears a dark façade - a charcoal grey once hot like burning coals. Consumed by too much passion she was scorched. Too long she has smoldered. Her dark façade is cold now. . . and brittle. She fears that if you touch her she’ll crumble. Written 10/30/12 By Andrea Dietrich For Nette Onclaud's VIEWS FROM A VIGNETTE Poetry Contest

Sometimes we burn to hot to early in life and all that is left is the ashes. We spend the rest of our lives trying to rebuild our facade...such a waste of time. ~Kilmer

expresses the hurt and as they say wears her heart on her sleeve. If scorned not hard to become cold and brittle if you let it. Love the way you try all these forms so wish I had more time but as you know so limited now. I guess you are the same. Thinking of you and hope things have improved. love phyl

I really enjoyed this one, Andrea! I find it so great how you related all those colors and worked around it for your poem-- it comes as so descriptive for me-- from the colors, to the burning coals crumbling-- loved your last two lines here! I think you ended it perfectly-- I sure wish this places high! How are you this week?? I hope all is well and hugs to you, sweetie!
