Her Baby
Laying on the road alone
A bunny died on his own
The cars still kept on whizzing by
Without a whimper or a sigh
For that baby bunny
In a Meadow not far away
Other bunnies were out at play,
Mother rabbit called them in for tea,
When she noticed there were only three.
The look of panic in the mother's eyes,
It is a look you can't disguise,
Her remaining babies started to cry
Because they couldn't understand why,
Their mummy was afraid.
Another rabbit heard the noise,
And picking up some rabbits toys
She took them to see her friend,
To see if she could help mend
What was causing so much grief
And encourage them and give them relief.
The friend said she would stay,
With the babies, while mummy goes away,
To look for baby bunny number four,
Mummy put on her shawl,
And with a quivering voice began to call
For her precious baby,
She had a bad feeling inside that maybe,
He had died.
While dismissing this thought
For tears this thought brought,
She heard traffic whizzing by
She collapsed as she spied
HER BABY!
