Help Me Escape the Pouring Rain

Its dark dreary and lonely on this rainy afternoon I wish there was sun and fun but they’re on their honeymoon I turned on the television in my bedroom The weatherman’s forecast was of course full of doom and gloom We’ll I’ve lost my way and I cannot see Can you bring me your light and stay close to me Will you come to ease my inner pain Help me escape the pouring rain I walked out my front door hoping that at least it would be warm But only to find a depressing cold damp thunderstorm It was an experience I would not soon forget It was to late to run so I just spread my arms and got wet We’ll I’ve lost my way and I cannot see Can you bring me your light and stay close to me Will you come to ease my inner pain Help me escape the pouring rain It feels like I’ve been waiting here for you for years Being drowned to death by gods tears I need a ray of hope but without you it’s frightening Then all at once I was struck by lightening We’ll I’ve lost my way and I cannot see Can you bring me your light and stay close to me Will you come to ease my inner pain Help me escape the pouring rain So I lie here in agony to forever wait Then you came by to heal me it was just fate It only took one look into your eye To illuminate me with love and to open up a clear sky
