Help After Too Late

I cried out to no reply
people need to realise
they only cared after
"always" is a lie

now their care is projected
it's clear to see, detected,
but when needed rejected,
shown now and respected

what good is a doctor when you die,
or a lifeguard ignoring the cry,
a firefighter who doesn't firefight,
as good as friends were to I

friends in hindsight
once ignorant to my plight
great friends in my life
didn't help me fight

people I do not need
wouldn't listen let alone bleed
only out for selfish greed
blaming change solely on me
