Help

Help is needed everywhere,
People need to know that someone's there
To help them when they grieve,
It is hard for all to perceive,
How others are feeling,
When they are still reeling,
From events shown on tv,
Is it me?
Or is it another page of history,
That folk will read about after I have gone.
Will a new generation learn? Or will they spurn,
The stupidity that went on in the past,
Will there be anyone left to care?
Will the Earth become barren, bare?
What are we fighting for,
Why do we all want more?
More greed plants the seed of violence and discontent.
We have natural beauty all around us,
Why can't we see,
What a future it could be,
If we could redress,
This awful mess. HELP!

USA billionaires soared from only 60 in 1990, to 664 in 2021, yet WHO rankings tumbled to the bottom of "developed" nations, leaving one to wonder how those 664 plan to take it with them? Enjoyed, Shirley! Aloha!

G'Day Rico, The more money you have, the more power it gives. Sadly too many billionaires do not know the meaning of charity. Thank you for your comment, Rico

Shirley, words of wisdom in your poem for sure! I am a big believer in positive thinking yet I do fear that mistakes will be repeated as humanity forgets the past and doesn't learn from it! i hope that I am wrong I'm just going to try and enjoy nature today! Happy Monday xxoo

Will, we ever learn, Deb. My Granddaughter and my great-grandson both have Covid They are getting better every day, thank goodness. It was an anxious time for us all. Take care. Shirley X
