Hello Jesus I'M Johnny Cash

hello Jesus I’m Johnny Cash
its been a long and winding dusty road
that I have traveled to get here
I know that I have stepped off
the right path a few times in my life
but I have known and loved you since
I was just a little boy
I really hope that that counts for something
in my life I have tried to do the best I can
to help and be of comfort to my fellow man
by my deeds and my songs
the talent that you gave to me
I pray I have used it well and made you proud
singing for my supper in the beginning was not easy for me
one of the greatest gifts that I ever received from you
and I believe that you had something to do
with finding the love of my life my wife June
I thank you for that gift that changed me for the better
June was the wind beneath my wings
I have always known she was an angel
from heaven you sent to me
I stand before you at the gates of heaven
a humble man with hat in hand
my hope is that you will let me into heaven
and be invited to join your band
