Notes About The Poem

Hello and Goodbye, Aloha

A glance across a room a smile
is enough to get it going.
A new relationship is born
Without you even knowing.

Coffee at the mall
Or lunch in a restaurant.
Two strangers becoming friends
Both acting nonchalant.

The days turn into weeks
The weeks turn into years.
You share your deepest secrets
The laughter, and the tears.

Then one day you look across the table
at that empty stare.
You hear your loved one tell you,
that they no longer care.

You thought this one was different
You thought this one would last.
You thought this one was stronger,
than relationships in the past.

You want to ask those questions
The who? what? Why? When? Where?
But you know that it's all over
You can't make a person care.

The room................... (Pause)

Is suddenly quiet.

Hello Cal Bambi, yes I do like this poem. Did this happen to you? Some marriages do not last long. Some last longer. Have a nice evening my friend.
