Held With Grace

A sycamore tree is history held with grace,
Like our friendship, Our anchor of friendship
is the anchor to each others soul.

Friendship is for keeps all it takes
is a little patience to make it work.

Our friendship is history in the making, We've
been there for each other through so much.

Like a quilt of hearts with some holes, As
that's when you needed me most in your life.

We were two souls born apart, And
now exist as two sisters by heart.

I like the way that this poem expresses a simple, though universal, theme in such a delicate and precise manner. The language is great and it is hard to pinpoint a particular moment in this, though I love the idea of 'Our friendship is history in the making' a brilliant way of expressing it. I wonder if you could not have made this an heroic couplet and do something to make the first stanza a couplet. It works brilliants on that level, I feel.
