Heavens Ladder

If I could build a ladder
And place it towards the sky
I'd climb on up to Heavens gate
And look into your eyes

I'd gaze upon your face to save
Your image in my mind
To hear your voice I would rejoice
I've forgotten it with time

But first I'd hold you oh so tight
To feel your warm embrace
To hold you long and not let go
My loss would seem erased

We'd pass the time with stories told
Of what you've missed down here
I'm sure we'd share in laughter loud
And also in some tears

I'm finding comfort in the fact
Of knowing you are fine
It's peaceful there and joyous too
We'll all meet again in time

So down the ladder I must go
For my time is out up there
I'm needed with my family here
Till our time again we share
