Heaven Sent

Chanel produces fragrance that some may call sublime,
But nature's sweet aromas will stand the test of time.
Cascading lilac petals in soft effusive bloom
Exhilarate my spirits with heavenly perfume.
A gentle buzzing echoes, as humming bees alight;
Wisteria in blossom is such a wondrous sight.

Wendy, congratulations on your win with this poem that highlights two of my favorite spring blooms - lilacs and wisteria. We have wisteria that covers an arbor at our front porch and a white lilac that graces our driveway! Can't wait for them to come into bloom and be intoxicated by their perfumes! Blessings to you.

The sweet aromas of nature are on display so fluidly with your iambic hexameter, a metre I rarely see on PS. A lovely write, Wendy, enticing one to 'wake up and smell the roses'. ~ John

Thank you, John. I always pause to smell the roses- the yellow in particular have an exquisite perfume. Wisteria has been absolutely glorious this year so I thought I'd capture a moment savoured in my garden.
