Heaven In the Deep Roots

Heaven In The Deep Roots Fathers are trees whose roots are so deep and strong that we cling to them for ever Eventually we get lost into them that gives a different pleasure Now when my father has gone far away from me desire of sticking to his roots has increased Today while leaving the town for my village I saw an old man moving with support of a stick and holding a child that he was supporting the child or the child was holding the old man I do not know how it happened But it did have the sense that we are all sticking to the roots in order to persevere. Green fields of corn in the morning fog that seems to be more elusive For our bread and better my father used to work hard in these fields Now in those fields with corn tamarind insists to tell his poetry and story Suddenly chime of tamarind leaves and chink of corn flowers tickled my cheeks With this realization I close my eyes and cling to the memories of my father and pray to almighty god that may his righteous soul rest in peace (By Kishan Negi)
