Heaven

We walked this mile
for calm to stay
This drying tear is a gift
we cannot claim

We tug at thoughts
of painful moments now deleted
This place we craved unsheltered
is now our home

All love now endures
And feeble compassion dies
Our selves retain the goodness we kept
This place restores the hope we had
