Heat Wave

Under this brilliant clear blue sky A smoldering heat has descended, Humidity so high I think I shall die Under this brilliant clear blue sky Electricity is now in short supply, And, overuse of water is rescinded Under this brilliant clear blue sky, A smoldering heat has descended.

In Kansas this is not funny - cattle are dying by the thousands in dry feedlots here - this is serious! Nice that you picked up on what I have been thinking this week

Thank you, Caren. I know there is great concern during this heat wave throughout the country. We had a small break in the heat this weekend, but it is supposed to resume this coming week.

I'm with you, Eve. I can't handle the hot, humid air.

Winter hasn't started here yet and temperatures close to zero degrees celsius are quite annoying!

I'd say so, Marco. I hope you don't have a brutal winter. Apparently it is getting an early start, though.

L Milton this poem is like Shock & Awe. Brilliantly put to the proper poetic form. Here it's the rainy season SO no complaints. Thanks...

I don't know where you are, Jeff. We had a rather wet spring, but are under a blistering heat wave right now. Temperatures are supposed to moderate this weekend. Thanks for the read and your comment.

No, but we have an apartment there and hoping to sell it when we go, had it for ten years now and decided we didn't want the hassle any more as we're getting older. Had some great times there and made many friends.

Have a great trip, Tom. I'd love to visit Turkey. Do you have family there? Enjoy yourself. We miss you when you're away.

I finished up my concrete work yesterday afternoon - it was 97 with a heat index of 107! I find if I can keep replacing the water lost sweating, I can keep going if the work isn't too strenuous. Yes, I wish there was a little more cloud cover and a little less brilliant clear blue...

Well, just be sure you are staying dehydrated. You don't want a heat stroke! They can be very, very dangerous, as I'm sure you know.
