Heat of Fortune

Breath comes quick, my chest feels tight, A racing heart ignites the night. Sweat beads glisten, skin runs hot, Grateful flames in every thought. Fortune's kiss, a trembling gift, A weight I carried starts to lift. Relief, a river, rushing fast, The storm is gone, the fear has passed. My pulse erupts, it pounds, it sings, The joy of life in simple things. I’m dizzy now, yet feel alive, This is the proof: we will survive. Luck, a fire that burns so bright, Melts away the cold of night. Grateful heat consumes my soul, I’m whole, I’m safe—I’ve reached my goal.
