Hearts Filled With Love

When I was about four, my parents liked to drink
so the kids had to all be taken away
Along with my sister we went to a new home
hoping we would be there to stay

After a year we were split up
this burden was the farthest thing from fun
When it came to having enough love for two children
they seemed to only have enough love for one

Off to a new home I was sent
without my dear sister who was always right by my side
For a five year old child this can be pretty tuff
but all I could do was learn to take it all in stride

To Loose your parents with your sister and brothers
is quite the heartache at a young age to take
Thinking she would always come back to get me
was a thought my mind couldn't seem to shake

She never came back as the years rolled by
Leaving me wonders that wouldn't escape my mind
Knowing you have brothers and a sister in the world
with loving hearts that you may never ever find

Loosing my loved ones at such young age
I have dealt with for most of my life
With the only love now I have left to loose
is the love of my forever loving wife

As the saying goes 'what doesn't kill us makes us stronger'....I identified with your write, read my "Painstaking Views" it's along the same lines. Did you ever reunite with your siblings? Take care xo

The knees, they will buckle when life starts to suckle the marrow right out of our youth. It leaves you not knowing if your coming or going. When your left all alone in the booth.
