I'sa never gon' love a man you see,
cause a man put po' o me through misery.
I loved him so you see,

Very good piece. Brief but powerful. It brings to mind the works of the Harlem Renaissance. A lot of the poetry of that time and movement was influenced by blues and jazz, the way Langston Hughes advised Gwendolyn Brooks to compose. Good work.

It's crazy you mentioned Langston Hughes because he is the inspiration from which I channeled this piece. He is my favorite poet.

Matters of the heart often result in heartache. Loved the bluesy feel to this.
