Heart Over Mind, Mind Over Matter, God Over All

Halt this train of morose pondering Arrest the mind of useless wandering Will my beating heart quit floundering Bring relief for this unrest Make my soul a place of peace Bid each day to bring release Set in these bones the feel of ease End the perseverance test Wash me new in mercy's flow Bid me strength and let me know These things shall pass and make me grow And will bring about my best This is a re-post

Hi Donna, with every day there are new lessons to be learned and a few graduations in order from some of the others things that we have been able to get beyond from our own experiences, Because we have learned that it is better to walk around the mud instead of stepping into it again, But many of us still step in the wrong direction until we have finally made the decision that we need to choose another path,Thank you for sharing this poem with all of us , you did a wonderful job on this.Dean

This has the quality of being an alternate write of the Book of Job. I liked it very much. It has freshness and honesty and it is not strident nor judgemental. Well done. The only possible criticism I could make would be this:"This, too, shall pass" in lieu of these things. But I am being super critical. Thank you for your kindness and your words. They do mean a lot to me and I appreciate you and all of the site even bothering to comment on my little pieces. Regards, Gerard.

Donna, we have all seen the "train of morose pondering," but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Surely, God will bring you the release and peace your desire. Wonderful poem! Carolyn

In every place that you have walked in both heart and mind, Donna, you are comforted to know that Jesus will bring you through and to that place of victory ALWAYS. Very much the prayer ! Meaningful write. God bless, Doug

I have 'no doubt' about it, Donna Golden~this answering, of Your deepened and lovely prayer! Smile~I could spend all night quoting unto 'Your Light~Living Waters Words!!? But I shall not do that, rather, I shall tell You this~If within 'Your Soul,' such a desire for Heaven truly exists? Then not even the thrones of darkness, and all which they hold, will 'ever' be able to keep 'You,' from 'The Glorious Grace,' of everlastings life....cont....

It is a test, the bible says many are called but few are chosen. He is trying our faith, to see if we will we stand or falter??.God will not put on us more than we can bare, understandably speaking some of us feel we have already bared too much but truthfully we are much stronger than we think because he has made us that way. Many times I have felt the pressures of life and wanted to give up but I know God did not bring me this far to leave me and I will not leave him.Nicely done,God Bless*Tyesha

I understand the perseveracne test. How many of us poets suffer? I have often asked is it nessarcy, do we need it for our work? We beg its end but...? I like this poem. Thnk you for your comment Donna.
