Heart Like Mine
This heart has been broken,
tattered and torn
Not so long after
that I was born.
Searching for love
that appeared in dreams
Burning like the sun
and it's radiant beams.
I've been searching
for so many years
Looking for the woman
who can define my tears.
A woman who will adore me
and all that I am
Not someone who will play
putting on a sham.
I want someone to love
and honor for life
Someone who will someday
Be my loving wife.
Someone to honor
and cherish and all
That is the essence
in which I fall.
I'm not an act
and won't pretend
I could be much better
than the truest friend.
A woman who's bright
and together we shine
Is there anyone out there
with a heart like mine?
