Heart Broken

We were friends at first
this, i know
I never wanted to fall so fast
now i can't seem to let go.

I know you're already taken
you have a girl to call your own,
but can't you make an acception
leave her to be alone.

I know this is hard for you
and i'm not making it any easier,
but she has hurt you time and again
I can't let you forgive her.

We had so much fun together
it was as if it were the beginning,
I truly thought we were getting somewhere
that i wouldn't end up with nothing.

You said you wouldn't hurt me
that things would turn out fine,
I never thought I'd envy you
for wasting all my time.

That day you looked me in the eyes 
and told me it wasn't real,
that was the day i shut down
and forgot how to feel.

I miss you most days
I hate you the rest,
I cry every now and then
i hope it was for the best.
