He Was Gone
Adam was gone. . .Lost to us - its suddeness
Was cruel - And our lives change in
That instant - Reality - Distorted beyond
The grasp of our understanding -
Our world that was. . .No longer is
Adam was gone. . .Everything seemed
To go into slow motion - Time stood
Sill for an endless second as the
Grief throbbed inside my chest - My
Heart ached so badly that it
Robbed me of my ability to think
Adam was gone. . .And as always
Happens in the wake of that realization
I am left in the blackened depths
Of the greatest sadness of my life
Adam was gone. . .And as I lay
Here in the cold lonely cell - I wondered
If we will ever get past the anger - Past
The protest or the endless stream of tears
And heartbreak
Adam was gone. . .And finally
I understand that the toll of our
Loneliness runs far deeper than
Anyone could ever imagine
