He Was By My Side

Climbed up on the mountain Fingers almost touched the sky Even had to duck my head As a cloud came tumbling by Felt I was invincible Amongst the blue and gray Maybe God had rested here On that holy seventh day I could see for miles Air was clear and bright Sun shining through the trees Was a visual delight Leaves they seemed to sing A song upon the breeze While floating to the ground Asking " Catch me if you please" Then I saw an eagle Soaring in the sky Looked at me suspiciously Giving me that eagle eye Then a little chipmunk Came by to say hello Cheeks stuffed with acorns Think he's wanting me to go Saw a white tailed deer With big brown Bambie eyes Quickly turn and run away Her, I really did surprise So I will take this day Arrest it deep inside All the beauty that I've seen Cause He was by my side
