He Walks

He walks a path
No man knows
Alone in the world
There he goes

Whispers of love
Into the night sky
An old love
Betrayed him
For another lover

He sees pain
Everywhere he goes
She laughs
As his tears pass
Down his cheek

He tried to fix
But she pulled and ripped
Into a field he went
As she picked his switch

Digging a ditch
Bitter soil to him
Was great and rich
Only to her

For a reason to stay above
He looked and found
For two daughters surround
He got up out of that ground
The love they seek
In him was found

Hand in hand they walk
Many have said
To have seen them
They walk together
No matter the weather
Or the storms

Love keeps them warm
Even in the cold season
The man still walks
For they are his reason
